DJ’s Blog

A scam that I have experienced in my personal life used A.I in an attempt to deceive the victims. The purpose of the scam was to get a large amount of money. The scam worked by creating an A.I voice of someone and using that voice to call that person’s loved ones from a random number. This A.I voice proceeded to say that they were thrown in jail for a petty crime and were calling from the cell. After that, they asked for money to get bailed out. One way you could determine that it was fake is by calling and texting the person’s real number to be sure that the information is true.

That’s crazy. I have never experienced that before, but I have heard of it impacting a lot of older people thinking their grandkids are in trouble.

What happens if you text the number, but they somehow have access to it and are still scamming you?

That’s a good question; a good solution is to facetime the number to see their face.
